Lorraine George ART
Welcome to my gallery/shop window - Please have a look around and enjoy my art.
I spent twenty-eight very happy years as a ballet teacher, wishing I had the time to create pictures. Now, as I enjoy my retirement, I'm having a lot of fun painting and embroidering.
Most of my pieces are for sale, with proceeds going to www.therobgeorgefoundation.org.
For those of you who don't know me, art has become like a medicine for me. Our youngest son, Rob, died aged 21 of leukaemia in 2013. His last words to us were "Be Happy" and when I am making art, that is exactly what I am - sometimes a little frustrated, sometimes a little messy, but always happy! It truly helps keep the sadness at bay. The Rob George Foundation was set up in loving memory of Rob.

Would you like to commission a painting?
Mersea Island, Sunset II
This is a recent commission completed and accepted.
It's a challenge to try and understand exactly what is inside someone else's head and imagination, but everyone seems happy at the outcome of this piece. It's 100cms x 100cms so a bit of a whopper, but I'm thrilled with the finished painting and honoured to have been asked to represent this favourite local scene.
